Week Five | Getting it Done
Some blunders here and there might’ve meant we worked every minute up until reveal day…but WE MADE IT. Sure, I’m writing this post starting at 8pm the day before the official reveal, and I only took the pictures a few hours ago while racing the sunlight…BUT! IT’S DONE! 6 weeks (less really) and we have a “new” bathroom to enjoy for years to come!
Are you ready to see this transformation? Pinkish bathroom NO MORE!
CHEERS from my glass to yours!!!!
(And onto 59138051 pics.)
Let’s start with the before and afters…
That’s a pretty okay start, right? Now that you’ve got your bearings, onto the details!
Welcome to the new bathroom!
I spray painted our shower rod and happily hung Nancy’s bath towel on this modern robe hook from Amerock.
I’m so glad I brought out a liiiitle bit of my funky side by opting for gold instead of a more predictable finish.
Also, this shower/tub faucet set is from Amazon, so that’s cool too. (Don’t forget to buy this part with it though. #trustmeiknowfromexperience) On another note: HOW BEAUTIFUL IS MY NEW BUILT IN SHOWER NOOK!?
It’s all in the details. I (primed and) spray painted (and lacquered) this air vent, and even the tissue paper holder is “golden champagne!” Also — how great does Sherwin-Williams Wordly Gray look paired with the gold? We chose the satin finish in their Emerald line of paint and couldn’t be happier with the easy application and overall result. (We even painted the bathroom ceiling Worldly Gray too!)
This is my favorite corner of the bathroom! It was once bare. Well, bare as in pink tile up to about where the towel bar is and nothing on the drywall above. Now look how bright and happy it is! The door is Sherwin-Williams Anonymous in high gloss. I love having a bold, dark door to contrast the light colored walls throughout our home.
The prints…oh these prints. Aren’t these ladies so fun and funky? Their flower hair reminded me of my Pie girl loving to put 15890 bows in her hair at once. They’re free downloads from DesignLoveFest. I printed them to Walgreens, found these frames at my beloved Home Goods, and voila! Affordable, happy, and fun art!
I was hoping for more pink in the 2×3 version of this rug, but at the end of the day, it has grown on me as it is. I still am going to need someone to buy the big version so I can see it in all of its glory!
DesignLoveFest for the win again. This antler print is everything! (And the frame is from Home Goods again.)
Despite it’s lack of storage (read: 0 drawers), we chose to keep our previous vanity in order to save some dollars on the reno. With that said, I am so glad we added this linen tower to the mix for extra storage! It also adds a bit of height to the room and is a sight for sore eyes with its beautiful pulls and glass cabinet.
These “gray mist” hydrocotton towels are still going strong…a wedding registry win!
Yay for drawers!…and for not having to replace the standard pulls that came with the tower because they are perfection!

The faucet stayed the same but was (primed and) spray painted (and lacquered/sealed) by yours truly. Thank you to Remington Avenue for the tutorial during her ORC!
Pssst…you won’t believe what a steal the mirror is. (And it’s currently on sale for <$40, sooo…)
Couldn’t say no to this candle when I saw it. (Home Goods…again. Sigh.)
Another bit of funky-ness in the room? This light fixture. It’s modern yet retro at the same time. I love that blend of styles! But to tell you the truth, it was a hard choice to make because Bellacor has so many lighting options. I had at least 5 favorites I had to narrow this one down from! So much goodness.
Well, friends, there you have it: Nancy’s/the guest bathroom.
Would you already believe that I’m stewing on our next reno that starts in just a couple weeks?
Onto the next bathroom…the master bath! On the list to conquer this time: royal blue tiles and glitter painted walls! WOO! (Yikes.)
If you want to follow along that journey, please check back in, or (even easier!) sign up for the mailing list for new post notifications. See y’all soon! xx
Have a friend or family member with this 1960s pink tile? (I’ve talked to so many of you who have/had/grew up with this very tile!!! It was so stylin’ and popular in 1961.) Share this with her!
