Nesting, spring cleaning, renovations…oh my! That triple threat is happening in our home right now, and it’s making my almost 3rd trimester (tomorrow!) self want to give almost every room in the house a little sprucing up. I still have a long way to to (as in the urge to clean out every closet in our home), but for now a little spring refresh will do!
We have slowly been figuring out how to make this room, our den, the most functional for us. We downsized our club chairs, added more to the walls, tossed our old stained carpet, inherited Hope’s rug and rearranged the furniture to maximize couch snuggles. We’re a couple months shy of the 2 year mark in this home, and that’s about twice as long as Mark and I have ever (!) stayed in one place. This time around we are so enjoying staying put and finding out how to make our home work best for us.
So come on in and have a look around! As it opens into both the kitchen and the playroom, this den is the heart and center of our home…
Spring blooms make everything better! I snagged these branches from Hope’s yard. Another recent update? The gallery wall on this pine piece. I filled it with pictures of our little family and can’t wait to add a little boy‘s face to the mix.
I get questions all the time about the beautiful, life-giving wooden signs in our home. The shop from where I purchased them is now closed; however, I tracked down a super close alternative for y’all.
Love this view. And that beach art from Home Goods? Yep! $39.99 for the win!
This little space is a work in progress, but I am in the process of converting these built ins into a bar area. I can’t wait to fill up those decanters and sip on some cocktails this summer! (Visions of ice cubes with frozen fruit are dancing in my head.) I snagged these mirrors on behalf of Hedge Apple, and their reflection makes this area very “bar” while keeping it classy with the beveled edges. Check out their website for all of your home decor needs, and if you’re in the market for a new rug, visit their sister company, Plush Rugs, as well.
*Full Disclosure: this is not a sponsored post. I received the mirrors c/o Hedge Apple.
Guyyyysss, these new pillows are my fave. They’re the best and nicest and loveliest pillows I’ve ever had in my house…ever. By far. Even better? They’re made by my (our!) oh-so-talented girl boss friend, Whitney, who owns Piper Collection. The company is local to Charlotte! Y’all know there’s nothing we love more than supporting our #girltribe and shopping local! We love you, Whitney!!! Be sure to follow @pipercollection on Instagram. Whitney just got back from a work trip to India, so get ready for some serious color/texture inspo.
Soft, kid friendly, super high quality. I’m in love. Here are few more of my favorite Piper pillows:
Love how this room opens up into our (gated off) playroom. Also love how our new furniture arrangement hides that (much necessary) gate more than our former setup.
White brick, I love you. Someday I will paint our exterior this color too. Some day…:)
(P.S. It’s SW Pearly White. It’s white with a tiny gray hue. Also the color of our master bedroom. Also the future color of Sterling’s nursery. Yep, I’m pearly white obsessed.)

A little changing up is so fun for me nonetheless. Can’t stop won’t stop.
